My name is Marisa Garza, owner of Cuddles Dog Bakery. Cuddles started during the COVID pandemic in 2020 when I was 20 years old with one dog, a lot of ideas, and a love for spoiled pups.

At the time, we were formerly known as Simply Pawsitive, and what started as homemade treats for my dog Sienna quickly turned into something much bigger. Every recipe I made, she tested first. I spent hours researching ingredients, homemade recipes, dog nutrition, and learning more about what pets actually eat. I realized there was a growing community of dog parents looking for treats that felt more homemade, thoughtful, and personal.

As time went on, Cuddles became more than just treats.

It became a feeling.

A feeling of comfort, love, and doing something a little extra for the pets that mean everything to us. Whether it’s grabbing your dog their favorite treats, ordering a birthday cake, or stopping by our Pupcake Bar at a market, I wanted people to feel excited about spoiling their pets without feeling judged for it.

Because to a lot of us, our pets are family.

They sleep in our beds, sit on our couches, go through life with us, and stay by our side through so many important years of our lives. My dog Sienna has been with me since the end of high school, and growing up alongside her showed me just how special that bond really is.

One of my favorite parts about running Cuddles is the community that comes with it. Seeing people get excited over our setup, hearing “I’ve never seen anything like this before,” or watching dogs enjoy our treats at the Pupcake Bar never gets old. What once started as a small idea became something that connected me to so many other dog parents who love their pets just as deeply as I do.

At Cuddles, nothing is meant to feel overly perfect or mass produced. Our treats are handmade in small batches, and that homemade feeling is something I never want to lose. Every batch is made with real hands, simple ingredients, and lots of love behind it.

My hope for Cuddles is to continue building a space where pets and their humans feel welcomed, comfortable, and understood. Whether you’re the type to throw your dog a birthday party, buy them “just because” treats, or cuddle them like they’re your baby, you belong here.
